Life won't kill you... at least not today!

Homeon the blue shore of silenceFeb 5, 2007
"even in the midst of all these beautiful lies
we have learned to believe
or fall like the dimming stars..."

"...we have the responsibility and the joy of being alive in this planet. That we only have precious little time to make a difference. That we have a moral obligation to 'seize the day, and make our lives extraordinary'. That the world, basically is ours. That the only limitations are within ourselves, and that we owe it to us to fight, to rebel against conformity, to change what we hate and keep what we love. That living in this world is a beautiful responsibility, and that only cowards dare not to change it for the better."

Random movie quotes:

Isn't everything we do in life

a way to be loved a little more?

-Celine, Before Sunrise

Tristan: There are other things

to live for: duty, honor.

Isolde: But they are not life, Tristan.

They are the shells of life,

and empty ones if in the end

all they hold are days and days

without love.

Love is made by God.

Ignore it and you suffer

as you cannot imagine.

-Tristan and Isolde

When you see something from afar,

you develop a fantasy. But when you

see it up close, 9 times out of 10,

you wish you hadn't.

-Matthew, Wicker Park

God must be a painter. Why else

would we have so many colors?

-Alicia , A Beautiful Mind

I believe if there's any kind of God it

wouldn't be in any of us, not you or

me but just this little space

in between.

If there's any kind of magic in this

world it must be in the attempt of

understanding someone sharing

something. I know, it's almost

impossible to succeed but who

cares really? The answer must be in

the attempt.

-Celine, Before Sunrise

Becky: I love the sky. It's so limitless.

Gilbert: It is big. It's very big.

Becky: Big doesn't even sum it up,

right? That-That word "big" is so

small. You'd have to get those

really giant words to describe

the sky.

-What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Finn: What's it like not to feel

anything?

Estella: Let's say there was

a little girl,

and from the time

she could understand,

she was taught to fear...

let's say she was taught to fear

daylight. She was taught that it was

her enemy, that it would hurt her.

And then one sunny day, you ask her

to go outside and play

and she won't.

You can't be angry at her, can you?

-Great Expectations

I guess when you're young, you just

believe there'll be many people with

whom you'll connect with.

Later in life, you realize

it only happens a few times.

Celine, Before Sunset

I still see things that are not here. I

just choose not to acknowledge

them. Like a diet of the mind, I just

choose not to indulge certain

appetites; like my appetite for

patterns; perhaps my appetite to

imagine and to dream.

-Nash, A Beautiful Mind

We don't read and write poetry

because it's cute. We read and write

poetry because we are members of

the human race. And the human

race is filled with passion. And

medicine, law, business,

engineering, these are noble

pursuits and necessary to sustain

life. But poetry, beauty, romance,

love, these are what we stay alive

for. To quote from Whitman, "O me!

O life!... of the questions of these

recurring; of the endless trains of the

faithless... of cities filled with the

foolish; what good amid these, O

me, O life?" Answer. That you are

here - that life exists, and identity;

that the powerful play goes on and

you may contribute a verse. That the

powerful play *goes on* and you

may contribute a verse. What will

your verse be?

-John Keating, Dead Poets Society

When I was a kid, I thought I was. I

can't believe I'm crying already.

Sometimes I think people don't

understand how lonely it is to be a

kid, like you don't matter. So, I'm

eight, and I have these toys, these

dolls. My favorite is this ugly girl doll

who I call Clementine, and I keep

yelling at her, "You can't be ugly! Be

pretty!" It's weird, like if I can

transform her, I would magically

change, too.

-Clementine, Eternal Sunshine
of a Spotless Mind

You don't know how lucky you are

being a monkey. Because

consciousness is a terrible curse. I

think. I feel. I suffer. And all I ask in

return is the opportunity to do my

work. And they won't allow it...

because I raise issues.

-Craig, Being John Malkovich

Sucking the marrow out of life

doesn't mean choking on the bone.

-John Keating, Dead Poets Society

Jesse: Right, so what

are you saying?

That reincarnation doesn't exist,

or that we're all young souls

like where half of us are first round

humans?

Celine: No, no. What

I'm trying to say

is that somehow I believe

reincarnation is just a - a poetic

expression of what collective

memory really is.

-Waking Life

Random thoughts for Valentine's

day, 2004. Today is a holiday

invented by greeting card

companies to make people

feel like crap.

yun din eh. mahirap i-suppress. a while ago, i just saw myself going over the characters of the novel. tapos, wala lang, sana may ka-ututang dila ako about what i've been thinking.

btw, you once told me to bear the boring parts of a novel because one way and the other, though it's boring, it must be there for the ending. i'm using it right now. time traveler's, dear. in fairness, gumaganda na yung eksena. danger is, it's ka-emoterahan page after page. haha.
